Frequently Asked Questions
Do I retain custody of my tokens?
Yes. When you delegate IOTA for staking, it remains on the IOTA ledger. Only your voting rights are assigned to the validator.
What is the minimum and maximum stake?
To become an active validator, a candidate must accrue at least 2 million IOTA. If an active validator’s stake falls below 1.5 million IOTA, they have seven epochs (≈7 days) to top up before being removed.
Can I be slashed?
No. IOTA does not implement slashing. However, underperforming validators may forfeit their rewards for that epoch.
How do I withdraw my stake?
You can withdraw your staked IOTA at any time. Once you request a withdrawal, staking rewards will cease, and any earned rewards will be distributed at the end of the current epoch.
