Does my BTC leave the Bitcoin network?
No. Babylon uses a UTXO-based locking mechanism. Your BTC remains on the Bitcoin L1 chain at all times — no wrapping or bridging is required.
How do I earn rewards?
By locking BTC into Babylon’s protocol, you help secure connected PoS chains (e.g. Cosmos-based networks) and earn native rewards from those chains.
What is the unbonding period?
After initiating a withdrawal, your BTC becomes available in approximately 7 days (1,008 Bitcoin blocks).
Is there slashing?
No. There is no slashing implemented in Phase 1 of Babylon.
Do I retain custody of my BTC?
Yes. Pier Two uses non-custodial flows — your BTC is locked via Bitcoin-native transactions and cannot be accessed or moved by Pier Two.
